NEPTUNE'S MOONS
Neptune has 13 known moons, but is thought to have many more which could be discovered. The 13 that are know at this time are named below:
Triton, Despina, Galatea, Halimede, Laomedeia, Larissa, Naiad, Nereid, Neso, Proteus, Psamathe, Sao, Thalassa
Triton is the largest of Neptune's moons. It has an icy surface and is one of the coldest objects in the solar system. Another unique feature about Triton is that it circles Neptune in an opposite direction of the rotation.
Proteus is the second largest Neptune moon, it is very dark and close to the planet and is not a perfect sphere.
